Squash c aching. Squash sport and squash rules (for squash raquet sports) guide by Liz Irving and Alan Murray; the guide to squash, squash rules. Look for Squash sport, squash rules, squash racquet sports and squash racket sports. Alan Murray and Liz irving have recently completed the ‘beginners section’ to the guide-to-squash. Their aim is to create a successful model for sporting communication freely assessible on the world wide web. The site was quickly endorsed by the W.S.F (World Squash Federation) and is already becoming the preferred coaching site for most squash related websites. The already successful website is also published as a cd rom and information booklet. The guide-to-squash works because of the fusion between the knowledge, experience and vision of Liz Irving (world class player) and the translation of that wealth of information by Alan Murray (artist and beginner to the game). The guide-to-squash uses over 120 videos and ‘flash’ diagrams in the ‘beginners’ section alone to make hitting, stretching, drilling, moving and the rules and tactics of squash understandable and accessible. Already interested squash players and Associations from all over the world are viewing the site (approximately 1000 hits per week without a full search engine profile as yet). The ‘Intermediate’ section is now being developed. This section will be much more comprehensive than the ‘beginners’ section and will start to deal with tactics for the player who wants to play at a higher, competitive level. Streaming media will be used to view top squash matches, and a regular weekly free live online ‘coaching lab’ will be run by Liz (Liz’s Lab). Sponsership and investment is now being sought to help fund and promote the guide-to-squash organisation so that the high quality of our online coaching can continue.

Our idea is that certain relevant sections of the site can be sponsored by companies with interactive, specific linkable sections. Whether you are a beginner or a good club player, the guide to squash should help with your understanding of squash; the technique, tactics, rules and regulations. Squash has developed fundementally from its roots as a game for 'gentlemen' to an explosively professional global game. The rules and regulations hold some difficult 'grey areas' (see the current rules at www.squash.org/rules). It is the job of the guide-to-squash to explain the difficult areas in as simple and accessible way as possible. Liz Irving is one of the most successful squash players of her generation and has tried to use all her experience and knowledge to give the guide-to-squash depth and insight. Alan Murray has played squash for a year and a half now and has tried to use every new discovery and revelation about his own development on the squash court to make the guide-to-squash fresh and accessible.
